Multiple street signs were vandalized in Clay County over the weekend.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is investigating reports of signs missing or damaged in Wakonda and Irene.
Clay County Sheriff Andy Howe says one school bus stop ahead sign was bent over and was likely driven over in Wakonda. He adds that a stop sign was pulled out at the intersection of 452nd Ave and 302nd St west of Wakonda, and a sign and mailbox were damaged in Irene on 452nd Avenue.
Howe says at the location in Irene, a deputy observed that it looked like a sign or another mailbox was missing based on a hole where something had been.
Howe encourages those that may know anything about these crimes to please contact the Sheriff’s Office at 605-677-7100.
