Yankton Middle School To Host Veterans Day Celebration

The students and staff of Yankton Middle School will be having their 16th annual Veteran’s Day Celebration Wednesday.

Yankton Middle School Principal Dr. Heather Olson says that at 9:00 AM, Wednesday, November 10th the celebration will be held at the Yankton Middle School South Gym.

Olson invites the community to join the students and staff of Yankton Middle School as they honor our veterans and their families with a ceremony that will include patriotic performances by the YMS Band and Concert Choir.

Guest speakers of the event include Command Sergeant Major Brooks Schild, Major General Jeffery Marlette, and SD ESGR State Chair James White presenting the Yankton School District with the Freedom Award.

Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion will participate in the presenting of the colors; video tribute honoring the veterans of Yankton Middle School Students and Staff, and a ceremony finished with the playing of TAPS.

Any person, any age, who has ever served in the Military, their families and the general public are welcome to attend this event. The program is free to the public and coffee and cookies will be served.
