Two Dead After Scotland Shooting

Two people are confirmed dead after a Tuesday evening residential shooting in Scotland.

South Dakota Department of Public Safety Information Officer Tony Mangan says that, on behalf of the Bon Homme County Sheriff’s office, a male suspect is in custody following the shooting spree.

In addition to the deceased, a third individual was transported to a Sioux Falls hospital with life threatening injuries. Two more individuals sustained unknown injuries in the shooting incident.

Mangan did not confirm identities of any of the individuals.

Assisting the Bon Homme County Sheriffs Office was the South Dakota Highway Patrol, the Division of Criminal Investigation, and many other local agencies.

Mangan adds that the investigation is ongoing and charges against the shooter and names of the individuals involved will be released at a later time.
