The Yankton School Board was presented with a petition Monday evening requesting the mask mandate be removed within the Yankton School District.
Yankton School District parent Stacey Nickels presented a petition to the board with over seven hundred community signatures all in agreeance to remove the district wide masking mandate.
Nickels says this mandate was put into place hastily…
Nickels adds that there were many people who declined to sign her petition for various reasons…
Yankton School Board President Dr. Jill Sternquist told the public in attendance at the meeting that they would take into consideration the petition. No action on the masking mandate was taken at the meeting.
