Yankton County reported two new deaths related to COVID-19 Monday.
According to South Dakota’s Department of Health, Yankton County’s new deaths raised its total pandemic toll to 40. South Dakota’s death toll rose to 2,241.
Yankton County also recorded 18 new positive tests Monday. Eleven new recoveries were reported, and the number of active cases rose to 141.
The DOH’s weekly update of community spread levels showed every county in the Yankton area back at high community spread. Overall, 58 of the state’s 66 counties reported high community spread, up two from last week.
