A public hearing will be held Wednesday to reveal a proposed building design and to discuss possible locations to construct a new Clay County jail and law enforcement center in Vermillion.
The event will be held Wednesday in the Kozak Room of the Vermillion Public Library. The meeting is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Everyone is invited to this meeting, particularly those who have an interest in the next steps that should be taken to replace the county’s aging jail and law enforcement center that is shared by both the Clay County Sheriff’s Department and the Vermillion Police Department.
Back in June, voters in Clay County voted against a $41 million bond issue to pay for a new courthouse, jail and public safety center.
