Yankton Rotary Celebrates A Century Of Service

Yankton’s oldest service organization is celebrating a century of service next week. Tuesday (November 2nd) is the official 100th anniversary of the Yankton Rotary Club.

Ken Jones of Yankton has been a member of the Yankton Rotary Club for sixty of those one hundred years. He says Rotary has been instrumental in may projects across town, including the development of the Auld-Brokaw Trail…

Jones adds that the Rotary Club will be holding a gala Tuesday night to celebrate the success of the organization…

One of the first ever tasks that the Yankton Rotary Club helped with was leading the charge on raising money to develop the Meridian Bridge, which was under construction in 1921.

The Yankton Rotary Club meets every Tuesday at noon at The Landing in Yankton. Everyone is encouraged to attend a meeting to find out more information about the Rotary Club.
