Legislative Redistricting Process Continues

The South Dakota Legislative Redistricting Committees continue to meet to come up with new legislative boundaries.

Every year after the census is completed, the South Dakota Legislature is constitutionally required to redraw its legislative district boundaries to accommodate shifts in population and ensure equal representation to all South Dakotans.

The Senate and the House Legislative Redistricting Committee will hold their sixth and seventh meetings, respectively, on Monday morning. The meetings are being conducted via electronic conference and at the State Capitol in Pierre.
