Yankton County is moving forward with a possible solution that has plagued a well-traveled bridge over the James River in northern Yankton County.
Recently, the Yankton County Commissioners approved acceptance of a FEMA grant that would evaluate the possibility of raising parts of 431st Avenue leading to Stone Church Bridge, which the county is in the process of trying to replace.
Yankton County Commission Chairwoman Cheri Loest says this issue has been discussed many times…
Leost says this grant is just for a study to see what needs to be done to raise the road…
The study will be conducted by IMEG Corporation of Sioux Falls and must be concluded by September of 2022.
