Yankton city leaders all met Tuesday to discuss how to move forward and combat any future vandalism at the city parks.
In the last few weeks, major vandalism occurred to the public restrooms at both Riverside and Memorial Park.
Yankton City Manager Amy Leon says they will have some time to come up with any long-term solutions to the problem…
Leon adds that the city will not go to the extreme by closing all the park bathrooms…
The restrooms and drinking fountains will be shut down and winterized over the coming weeks across the Yankton Park system.
The new restrooms in the water treatment plant, along the trail restroom in Riverside Park, will remain open during the day throughout the winter season.
