Yankton Food Service Leader Announces Retirement

This week is National School Lunch Week.

Then President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week in 1962 to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life and the impact it has inside and outside of the classroom.

A well-known face of the Yankton school lunch program is being recognized this week. The Yankton school board accepted the planned retirement of Sandi Kramer after thirty-eight years as the child nutrition supervisor for the district.

Yankton Superintendent Dr. Wayne Kindle says Kramer has been instrumental in the success of many…

Kindle adds that Kramer is one who goes above and beyond her job description…

During her tenure, Kramer has been involved with the serving of over 15 million school lunches. Kramer will be retiring at the end of this school year.
