Yankton County recorded a new death related to COVID-19.
According to Friday’s update from the South Dakota Department of Health, the death was one of four deaths reported in the state, which raised South Dakota’s total pandemic number to 2,100.
It was Yankton County’s 35th pandemic-related death and second this month. The previous death was posted on September 7th.
The DOH reported 544 new infections Friday, with active cases climbing 3.5% to 7,794.
Active hospitalizations remained steady at 214, with 25 new hospitalizations reported.
Locally, Yankton County also recorded four new infections and six new recoveries, lowering the number of active cases to 95.
Mount Marty does not have any active COVID 19 cases as of Friday.
