Yankton County recorded its first new death related to COVID-19 in more than three months.
According to Tuesday’s update from the South Dakota Department of Health, the death, the county’s 34th overall, was the first posted for Yankton County since May 20th.
Overall, South Dakota reported two deaths Tuesday, lifting the pandemic total to 2,074.
Meanwhile, 453 new infections were reported as of Friday afternoon.
Yankton County registered six new infections and two new recoveries, lifting the number of active cases to 91.
Yankton’s Avera Sacred Heart Hospital has four beds occupied by COVID-19 patients, including three in intensive care and one on a ventilator.
