Late last week, the Yankton Street Department completed their share of the upcoming Fairfield Inn & Suites project in Yankton. The street crews installed new water and sewer service lines to the project just behind the Fryn Pan.
Dirt work for the proposed hotel in the parking lot of the Yankton Mall started in late 2017 but came to a halt when the snow arrived. Expectations were that work would resume the following spring and the property would be finished near the end of 2018. However, work did not resume on the property due to several financing issues.

Slowey Management took over leadership on the project last year.
The 72-room Fairfield Inn & Suites will have an indoor pool, guest laundry, a fitness room, meeting space and a breakfast area. The Yankton location will be developed under the name Frontier Lodging of Yankton.
