A major expansion to the Yankton area trail system was highlighted with a ribbon cutting on Tuesday.
The 1.4-mile addition begins just west of the National fish hatchery parking lot near the foot bridge and runs south around Lake Yankton.

Statistically, biking and walking trails like this one is the most popular features in parks across South Dakota. Van Meeteren says that this will be a very popular addition, saying “we can’t build enough trails,” in refence to pubic feedback.
