The Yankton Police Department take some odd calls, but on Sunday, the police department responded to a call of someone who had stolen…popcorn.
According to Yankton Police Sergeant Dean Larson, officers were called to a business along Broadway Avenue on Sunday morning just before 4:30 am.
Larson says the businesses’ employee reported someone has walked into the unnamed business and took a dollar bag of popcorn and a three-dollar slushie without paying for either item.
Larson adds that the incident continues to remain under investigation.
