Discussion ensued in Pierre last week during the state legislatures Joint Appropriations committee meeting, focusing on the possibility of consolidating the Redfield Developmental Center with the Human Services Center in Pierre.
The discussion was not on the agenda to be discussed, but with the recent employee shortage at both facilities, the topic was brought up.

Hunhoff says that the regional mental health centers across the state needs some follow up as well…
Hunhoff adds that she is more interested in getting the right type of mental health services to the right people across the state versus any conversation about consolidation of the facilities.
