There are numerous summer projects going on in the Yankton School District this summer, and two of them involve athletic facilities.
Building and Grounds Supervisor Jim Reinhardt says a major project is underway on the Williams Field track at Yankton High School. Reinhardt says the flood two years ago caused a lot of damage to at least three lanes of the track.
New goal posts are being installed this month at Crane-Youngworth Field. The college goal posts are a different width than high school, and Reinhardt says the new uprights have been paid for by Mount Marty University.
Other summer projects in the Yankton School District include concrete work and carpeting at the High School, work on the roof and parking lot at the Middle School, and refinishing floors in a number of buildings.
