Build Dakota Provides Scholarships and Jobs

The Build Dakota scholarship program is in its seventh year of helping students in South Dakota get a free two-year education and a job at the same time.

Southeast Technical College Career Services Advisor Paula Hawks says Build Dakota involves the state’s four technical colleges.

Hawks says Build Dakota features partnerships between employers, students, and the state.

Local employers involved this year include List Electric and Dakota Drywall.  Build Dakota began six years ago with a 25 million dollar investment from T-Denny Sanford matched by 25 million from the state of South Dakota.
