Yankton City Manager Amy Leon announced this afternoon that Commander Jason Foote will become the next Chief of Police in Yankton. Foote will officially take over the post in early July when current Police Chief John Harris retires.
Leon says Jason Foote is an excellent choice to lead a very strong police force.
Foote has been with the Yankton Police Department since 1997 and has served as Animal Control Officer, Patrol Officer, Canine Handler, Sergeant and then named Commander in 2018.
