The Yankton School Board last night approved an easing of COVID restrictions for summer activities and practices.
Yankton School District Activities Director Ryan Mors says after consulting with the Health Care Advisory Committee, instead of having every coach perform daily screenings during the summer that will now be done at home.
Mors says face masks will be optional for outdoor activities but as of now still required going to the indoor practices.
Mors and Yankton Superintendent Dr. Wayne Kindle thanked the students, parents, coaches and everyone involved for their diligence over the past year which allowed students to stay in school and participate in activities.
