The voting by Yankton Chamber and Yankton Area Progressive Growth memberships showed overwhelming support for their planned merger.
Chief Executive Officer Nancy Wenande says it was exciting to see over 35 percent of the members from each group voting on the proposal.
The new organization will be called Yankton Thrive, and Wenande says surveys of community members showed this was a perfect fit.
Wenande says there will be a gradual roll-out of the new organization Yankton Thrive over the next two months.
