Two Yankton Police Department officers will be working with children as volunteer mentors.
Yankton Police Corporal Brad Parker says the officers will be serving as mentors with the United Way Big Friend – Little Friend program.
Parker says it’s great that new officers with the Yankton Police Department are getting involved in the community.
Wilson is the School Resource Officer at the Yankton Middle School and was honored last week as the South Dakota Police Officer of the Year. Keitel serves as a DARE officer in the Yankton School District.
