Yankton County reported six new positive tests of COVID-19 Friday and now has 70 active cases of the virus. The Yankton School District has eight active cases of the coronavirus as of Friday afternoon. There are two at the High School, three at Yankton Middle School, two at Beadle Elementary and one at Webster Elementary School.T
There was one death linked to COVID-19 reported Friday bringing the South Dakota death toll up to 1,957. The Department of Health shows there are 1,955 active cases of the virus in South Dakota, and there are 116 people hospitalized with COVID-19 statewide.
There were nine deaths linked to the coronavirus confirmed yesterday in Nebraska, where the death toll stands at 2,241 statewide.
