The Yankton area is in a Red Flag Warning today from Noon until 9 PM.
Yankton County Emergency Management Director Paul Scherschligt says a Red Flag Warning is issued by the National Weather Service.
Scherschligt says any type of fire would be very difficult to battle in these conditions, so no open burning is allowed today.
Scherschligt also says the Burn Ban Ordinance prohibits local fire departments from CRP burning or controlled burns of any kind today.
