Yankton County reported 12 new positive tests of COVID-19 on Friday and now has 56 active cases of the virus. That’s the highest one-day total of new positive tests in Yankton County in over two months.
On Friday afternoon, the Yankton School District reported 11 total active cases of COVID-19. There were eight active cases at Yankton High School, two active cases of the virus at Stewart Elementary and one active case at Webster Elementary.
The South Dakota Department of Health report yesterday shows there are 68 people in South Dakota hospitalized with the coronavirus and the active case total jumped to 2,240 statewide.
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services shows that 129 people are in the hospital with the coronavirus. The death toll in Nebraska is 2,133 after three additional fatalities were added Friday.
There were six more deaths confirmed yesterday from COVID-19 in Iowa where the death toll is now 5,672 since the pandemic began. There are 189 people hospitalized with the virus in the state of Iowa.
