The city of Yankton will be looking for a new Chief of Police.
Yankton Police Chief John Harris announced on KYNT this morning that he will be retiring this July.
Harris says the City of Yankton will advertise for a new Police Chief, and they have very good candidates in the department right now.
Harris started his law enforcement career in Tucson, Arizona in 1973 and took on the Police Chief position in Yankton in July of 2018. He plans to retire to Wyoming and Arizona and was very complimentary of the police force and all the people of Yankton.
