During every legislative session, South Dakota lawmakers are tasked with creating a budget for state government based on projections of what revenues could be in the future, which can lead to differences of opinions among legislators.
Co-Chair of the Joint Appropriations Committee District 18 Senator Jean Hunhoff says current numbers are showing the growth in South Dakota’s economy in spite of the COVID 19 pandemic.
Hunhoff says legislators from the South Dakota House are expecting higher revenues into the future than their Senate colleagues are.
Hunhoff says projections from the House are much more optimistic than those from the Senate.
