There were eight new positive tests of COVID-19 reported this weekend in Yankton County, which now has 28 active cases of the virus. That is the lowest total since mid-August in Yankton County. As of Friday, the Yankton School District reported one active case which was at Webster Elementary School. Mount Marty University had zero active cases and the University of South Dakota had five active cases of COVID-19.
The state of South Dakota death toll from COVID-19 is at 1,809 overall after eleven new deaths were confirmed over the weekend. There are 2,316 active cases of the coronavirus in South Dakota and 113 people are currently hospitalized, the lowest numbers since early September.
The state of Nebraska death toll from the coronavirus is at 1,968 after ten additional deaths were confirmed this weekend. There were five new positive tests of COVID-19 this weekend in Cedar County and zero reported in Knox County.
