Local health officials have expressed confidence in how the roll-out of the COVID 19 vaccine to people in the Yankton area is moving forward.
Avera Sacred Heart Infection Prevention Coordinator Liz Healy says more than four thousand vaccine doses have been administered so far to people over the age of eighty or who have other significant health issues.
Healy says due to a need for more room, the local COVID 19 vaccination center is moving to the south end of the Yankton Mall.
Healy says beginning next week the focus for COVID 19 vaccinations shifts to people seventy-five and above and those who live in a congregate living setting.
Healy says so far, more than fourteen thousand people have registered for the Avera on-line COVID 19 vaccination wait list located at avera-dot-org-slash-covid-dash-vaccine.
