Yankton County reported nine new positive cases of COVID-19 over the weekend and there are now 75 active cases of the virus in Yankton County. The Yankton School District reported late Friday that there were zero active cases of COVID-19 in any of its school buildings.
There are 4,005 active cases of the coronavirus in South Dakota. The State Department of Health reports there are 162 people hospitalized statewide with the virus, which is the fewest since September 21st. The state confirmed 21 new fatalities from COVID-19 this weekend, bringing the statewide death toll up to 1,705.
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services reports there are 392 people hospitalized with the virus, the lowest total in Nebraska since October 22nd. The death toll stands at 1,879 in Nebraska..
