With the first day to circulate nominating petitions for a seat on the Yankton City Commission coming up on January 29th, at least one of the three commissioners whose terms of office expire this year has said he will seek re-election.
Yankton Mayor Nathan Johnson says his hope for the next three years is that the community can move past the COVID 19 pandemic and resume work on items such as community events and economic development.
Johnson says if re-elected, re-kindling the momentum seen in Yankton’s Meridian District prior to the COVID 19 pandemic will be one of his priorities.
Johnson says he enjoys working with municipal government and the public to help move projects and initiatives forward.
Along with Johnson, Commissioners Bridget Benson and David Carda also have terms of office set to expire in 2021.
