The Yankton Police Department is seeking the public’s help is stopping a rash of crimes of opportunity that have been recently occurring throughout the community.
Corporal Brad Parker says over the past few weeks, a large number of vehicle and garage burglaries have been reported.
Parker says a tip from the public led to the recovery of a snow blower which had been reported stolen.
Parker says when people see an offer that is too good to be true, there is a possibility that they are looking at stolen property.
Parker says the number one thing people can do avoid becoming a victim of this type of crime is to lock their home, garage and vehicle doors.
