As the 2021 session of the South Dakota legislature gets underway next week in Pierre, lawmakers have concerns about taking the precautions needed to ensure the health and safety of both legislators and the public throughout the session.
District 18 Senator-Elect Jean Hunhoff says rules regarding COVID 19 are being developed that will be approved once the session starts.
Hunhoff says accommodations will be made for legislators who are at high-risk from the coronavirus.
Hunhoff says members of the public who wish to testify on bills during committee hearings will be allowed to do so remotely via telephone or the internet.
The 2021 session of the South Dakota Legislature convenes at noon next Tuesday.
