Yankton County reported just four new positive tests of COVID-19 on Thursday, and there are now 240 active cases of the virus.  Another fatality in Yankton County was confirmed, which is the 26th linked to the coronavirus since the pandemic began.

There are 84 active cases of the virus in Clay County and 39 active cases in Bon Homme County, which are the lowest levels in over 11 weeks.

There are 5,696 active cases of the coronavirus in South Dakota and 297 people hospitalized with the virus in the state.  The Department of Health reported 24 additional deaths which brings the death toll from COVID-19 up to 1,488 in South Dakota.

The previous two months were the deadliest in South Dakota.  There were 543 deaths confirmed in the month of December and 521 recorded in November connected to the coronavirus.

The state of Nebraska confirmed 57 additional deaths from COVID-19 in the past few days, bringing the statewide death toll in Nebraska up to 1,668.  Two more fatalities were confirmed in Cedar County, now up to ten deaths since the pandemic started.  There are currently just 14 active cases of the virus in Cedar County and 49 in Knox County over the past two weeks.
