A potential step forward to the eventual replacement of the Stone Church Bridge in Yankton County’s northwestern corner is on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting of the Yankton County Commission.
Commission Chair Cheri Loest says where other James River bridges are expected to be repaired, the Stone Church Bridge has been earmarked for a complete replacement.
Loest says in spite of its load limits, for ag producers in that portion of the county, the Stone Church Bridge is a vital link to markets.
Loest says progress is being made on achieving the goals set out in the county’s five-year highway plan.
The Yankton County Commission meets at 6 PM Tuesday at the Yankton County Government Center.
