Yankton Gazelles Tennis finished 6th as a team yesterday at the ESD Conference Championships in Sioux Falls.
The Gazelles scored 100.5 points as a team to place 6th. Harrisburg claimed the team title with a score of 359.
The last event on the schedule for girls’ tennis is the Class AA State Tournament, October 8th and 9th in Rapid City.
The Yankton Bucks and Gazelles were swept by Brandon Valley last night in their Class AA Soccer doubleheader.
The Gazelles were edged out by the Lynx 1-0, while the Bucks fell in their matchup 3-1.
Both Yankton squads wrap up their seasons tomorrow night with a road doubleheader against Sioux Falls Washington. The boys play first at 4:00 PM with the girls to follow.
Yankton Gazelles Volleyball had their three-match win streak come to an end last night with a 3-0 loss to Watertown.
The Arrows controlled the match throughout, winning set one 25-17, set two 25-13, and set three 25-12.
The Gazelles return home tomorrow night to host Sioux Falls Christian. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 PM. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 6:00 with Brayden Butler on the call.
Northwestern Head Football Coach Matt McCarty will be the featured speaker at today’s Yankton Quarterback Club meeting.
McCarty is in his 11th season as the head coach of the Red Raiders, leading the program to a 99-28 record during his tenure.
A meal will be available for purchase beginning at 11:15 with speakers scheduled for noon. The event will be held at the River Rock Event Center. The public is invited to attend.
Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Soccer travels to Fremont, Nebraska, tonight for a doubleheader against Midland.
The Lancer women are currently tied for 1st in the conference with Concordia, taking all 9 points from their first three matches. The Lancer men are 1-1 in conference play, ranked 6th on 3 points.
The women are scheduled to play first at 5:00 PM, with the men to follow at 7:30.
Yankton Bucks Golf will have their final competition before the AA State Tournament tomorrow afternoon, as they host the Mitchell Kernels for the annual Marchand Cup.
The Ryder Cup style tournament will be held at Fox Run Golf Course on Thursday. Tee time is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Cross Country will travel to South Sioux City, Nebraska, tomorrow afternoon for an invitational.
Tomorrow’s races are scheduled to be held at South Ridge Golf Course. Races are set to begin at 4:00 PM.
