The Yankton Bucks fell from 3rd to 4th in the latest 11AA Football Media Poll following their 42-14 loss to Watertown last week.

Pierre and Tea remain 1st in 2nd this week with Watertown jumping to 3rd. Spearfish rounds out the top-five with Huron receiving votes.

Elsewhere in the polls, Bon Homme dropped out of the top-five in 9AA after their loss, Freeman remains a nearly unanimous 1st in 9A, receiving 20 of 21 votes, and Avon remains 4th in 9B.

The Yankton Bucks shot a 311 as a team yesterday to tie for 5th at the ESD Conference Championships in Brookings.

Brookings won the team-title with a 303, while Mitchell’s Asher Dannenbring was the lone golfer under-par, shooting a 2-under 70.

Yankton was led by a 3-over 75 from Elijah Larson, placing him in a five-way tie for 5th. Also for the Bucks, Easton Schelhaas and Brayden Byrkeland shot 78, with Max Dobler finishing at 80 to round out the scoring.

Next up for the Bucks is the Marchand Cup. The Ryder Cup style event against Mitchell will be held at Fox Run Golf Course on Thursday at 2:00 PM.

The Yankton Gazelles are 5th as a team after the opening day of the ESD Conference Tennis Tournament in Sioux Falls.

Mary Rounds advanced to the semifinals of flight two singles and at flight one doubles alongside Karalyn Koerner. Ramsey Anderson will play for 3rd today at flight six singles after her loss in the semifinals.

Matches are scheduled to resume today at 8:00 AM at Huether Family Match Pointe in Sioux Falls.

Yankton Gazelles Volleyball is on the road tonight to take on the Watertown Arrows.

The Gazelles are currently on a three-match win streak, winning 9 of the 10 sets played during the run.

First serve between the Arrows and Gazelles is scheduled for 6:30 PM this evening at Watertown High School.

Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Soccer will travel to Brandon tonight for a doubleheader against Brandon Valley.

Both matches are important for Yankton in the standings, as the Bucks sit 16th on the boys side, while the Gazelles are 5th in the girls standings.

The girls are scheduled to play first at 5:00 PM with the boys to follow. Matches will be held at Brandon Valley High School.

Northwestern Head Football Coach Matt McCarty will be the featured speaker at Wednesday’s Yankton Quarterback Club meeting.

McCarty is in his 11th season as the head coach of the Red Raiders, leading the program to a 99-28 record during his tenure.

A meal will be available for purchase beginning at 11:15 with speakers scheduled for noon. The event will be held at the River Rock Event Center. The public is invited to attend.

Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Soccer travels to Fremont, Nebraska, tomorrow night for a doubleheader against Midland.

The Lancer women are currently tied for 1st in the conference with Concordia, taking all 9 points from their first three matches. The Lancer men are 1-1 in conference play, ranked 6th on 3 points.

The women are scheduled to play first tomorrow at 5:00 PM, with the men to follow at 7:30.
