The Yankton Bucks picked up a 14-7 road win over the Huron Tigers last Friday night in 11AA Football action.
Karson Kral scored a pair of rushing touchdowns while adding 89 yards on the ground. Will Sager led Yankton in receiving, tallying 7 catches for 122 yards.
The Bucks are now 3-1 on the year. They return home this Friday night to host Watertown for their homecoming game at Crane-Youngworth Field.
A 21-point opening quarter propelled the Concordia Bulldogs to a 42-24 win over Mount Marty on Saturday in GPAC Football action.
Jordan Anderson powered the MMU offense, rushing for 123 yards, 5.6 per carry, and a touchdown in the loss. Cole Cripps led the Lancer defense with 9 tackles, including a tackle for loss and a fumble recovery.
The Lancers end their two-game road stand this week, as they host the Morningside Mustangs at Crane-Youngworth Field on Saturday.
Mount Marty Volleyball went 2-0 on Saturday, winning a pair of matches over Haskell Indian Nations University and York University.
The Lancers defeated Haskell in match one 3-0. Jaya Wachholtz led the Lancers with 12 kills, while Brianna Even totaled 19 assists.
Wachholtz was impressive again in MMU’s 3-1 win over York, posting a match-high 16 kills. Caitlin Guenther added 10 kills and 3 blocks for the Lancers.
Mount Marty will resume GPAC play on Wednesday, as they take on the College of Saint Mary in Omaha, Nebraska.
Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Soccer swept Waldorf on Saturday in their GPAC opener.
The Lancer men improved to 5-2-1 with a 6-1 win over the Warriors. Dylan Davila scored a goal and recorded an assist in the win.
The Lancer women kept a clean sheet, winning their match 5-0. The Lancers outshot Waldorf 24-4 overall, with a 16-2 difference in shots on goal.
The Lancer women travel to Omaha on Wednesday to face the College of Saint Mary, while the Men are off until their match with Northwestern on Saturday.
Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Soccer went winless on Friday in their Class AA doubleheader against Pierre.
The Gazelles fell in match one 1-0, while the Bucks played the Governors to a scoreless draw.
The Bucks and Gazelles have their final home doubleheader of the regular season tomorrow night, hosting Harrisburg at Crane-Youngworth Field.
The girls will play first at 5:00 PM, with the boys to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 4:00.
Yankton Gazelles Volleyball improved to 5-6 on Friday with a three-set sweep over Pierre.
The Gazelles were dominant, winning 25-14, 25-13, and 25-12. Jordyn Kudera led Yankton with 7 kills. Ellie Drotzmann and Madison Gukeisen added 6 each. Brenna Elwood ended the night with 24 assists.
The Gazelles are off until Thursday, when they travel to Tea to take on the Tea Area Titans.
Yankton Competitive Cheer and Dance finished 11th and 6th, respectively, at this past weekend’s Brookings Invitational.
The Dance team placed 6th overall, led by a 3rd place finish in Pom. The Cheer program claimed 11th with a score of 226.5.
Next up for Yankton is the Brandon Valley Invitational tomorrow night in Brandon. Events are scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM.
The Cedar Catholic Trojans improved to 4-0 on Friday with an impressive 51-14 win over North Bend Central.
The Trojans were up 51-0 at the halftime break before giving up their first touchdown since the 3rd quarter of their opening game. Quarterback Grady Haberer threw for 231 yards and 5 touchdowns.
The Trojans return home this week, taking on Norfolk Catholic this Friday night in Hartington.
The Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats and Ponca Indians put up a basketball score in their Class D1 Football matchup on Friday.
The Wildcats claimed the win with a 78-60 final score. Wildcat QB Austin Sudbeck tallied 8 total touchdowns, 6 passing and 2 rushing, and 354 total yards, 232 through the air and 122 on the ground.
The now 4-0 Wildcats will host Elkhorn Valley on Friday night for their next game at the Hartington Community Complex.

The South Dakota Coyotes fell to Boise State on Saturday, 38-24 at Albertsons Stadium in Boise, Idaho.
The Coyotes led multiple times in the game, but a 14-3 4th Quarter secured the win for the Broncos.
Quarterback Austyn Modrzewski threw for 243 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions in the loss. Wade Abrams was all over the field for the USD defense, recording a game-high 14 tackles.
The Coyotes open conference play this week, as they travel to Youngstown, Ohio to face the Youngstown State Penguins.
The South Dakota State Jackrabbits are 1-0 to start Missouri Valley Football Conference play after their 27-20 win over Youngstown State on Saturday.
Josiah Johnson was unstoppable on the ground, rushing for 238 yards, 7.9 per carry, and 2 touchdowns for SDSU. Dontay Johnson led the Jackrabbits defense with 8 total tackles.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers wrapped up non-conference play on Saturday with a 34-7 win over North Dakota.
