The Yankton Bucks and Gazelles split their senior night soccer doubleheader last night against the Brookings Bobcats.
The Gazelles snagged a 1-0 win in game one, with Eden Wolfgram tallying the lone goal on a penalty. Wolfgram was one of nine seniors honored for the Gazelles after the game, joined by Remy Wenzlaff, Josslyn Elwood, Iyana Becker, Olivia Woods, Addison Brodeur, Lucy Johnson, and Elaina Mohnen.
The Bucks dropped their matchup 3-0 to Brookings to end the night. Four seniors were honored prior to kickoff, Noah Vanzee, Diego Fuentes, Fernando Berzaga (Burr-zah-guh), and Tony Guitron (Gi-Tron).
Both Yankton squads will host Pierre on Friday in their next doubleheader. The Gazelles are scheduled to play first, with the Bucks to follow.
Yankton Gazelles Tennis dropped both matchups in their home triangular yesterday afternoon.
Both duels ended in 9-0 sweeps for the opposition, as Yankton fell to both Sioux Falls Lincoln and Mitchell.
Yankton will have their home finale on Thursday, as they take on Sioux Falls Christian at 4:00 PM.
Mount Marty University had nineteen athletic programs earn NAIA Scholar Team Honors for the 2025-26 school year, led by seven top-10 finishes.
The Lancers were led by a second-place national finish for the women’s volleyball program at a 3.85 team GPA. Also in the top-10 were Women’s Tennis (5th), Baseball (5th), Competitive Cheer (7th), Football (7th), Women’s Outdoor Track and Field (9th), and Women’s Golf (10th).
Rounding out MMU’s honorees were Women’s Cross Country, Women’s Basketball, Women’s Indoor Track and Field, Softball, Women’s Soccer, Men’s Basketball, Men’s Soccer, Men’s Tennis, Men’s Cross Country, Men’s Golf, Men’s Outdoor Track and Field, and Men’s Indoor Track and Field.
All programs posted a team GPA of 3.0 or better to earn Scholar Team honors.
Mount Marty Football Coach John Michaletti and Bucks Soccer Coach Dane Hansen will be the featured guest speakers at tomorrow’s Yankton Quarterback Club Meeting at the River Rock Event Center.
Hansen is in his 3rd season as Bucks head coach, with Yankton currently 3-5-1 on the year. Michaletti and the Lancers are 2-1 after their loss to Northwestern.
A meal will be available for purchase beginning at 11:15 AM, with the program scheduled for noon. The public is invited to attend.
Mount Marty Volleyball returns to their home floor tonight to take on Concordia in GPAC action.
The Lancers enter tonight’s match with an 8-9 overall record, including an 0-3 mark in GPAC play.

Yankton Gazelles Volleyball travels to Vermillion tomorrow night for an inter-class matchup with the Tanagers.
Yankton is currently ranked 12th in Class AA with a 3-6 overall record. The Tanagers are 9-2 on the year, ranked 7th in Class A.
First serve from Vermillion High School is scheduled for 6:45 PM Thursday evening.
