Mount Marty Women’s Soccer picked up a dominant win over Dakota State last night, defeating the Trojans 5-1 in their season opener.
Five different players scored for the Lancers, Alexia Valdez, Julianne Donnelly, Rhyli Grim, Liz Stordahl, and Mary Stordahl.
The Lancers are 1-0 to start their 2026 season. They will travel to York, Nebraska, on Saturday to take on York University.
Yankton Gazelles Volleyball will host Dakota Valley tonight in their first home game of the season.
The Gazelles are 1-0 to start the year, coming off a 3-1 win over Brookings on Tuesday. Tonight will be the first match of the season for the Panthers.

The Yankton Bucks open their 2026 football season tomorrow night, on the road against Aberdeen Central.
The Bucks are coming off their second state runner-up finish in the past three years in 2025, falling to the Pierre Governors in the state championship.

The Cedar Catholic Trojans will host Scotus Central Catholic tomorrow night in their first game of the 2026 football season.
The Trojans are coming off a 10-1 season in 2025, where they advanced to the State Quarterfinals before being eliminated by Ord.

Yankton Bucks Golf travels to Huron this morning for a varsity invitational at Broadland Creek Golf Course.
The Bucks are coming off a second-place finish in Pierre earlier this week. Yankton was led by a trio of top-10 finishes from Easton Schelhaas (T-3rd), Eli Larson (6th), and Max Dobler (8th).
Tee time is scheduled for 10:00 AM this morning.
Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Cross Country opens their season tonight, competing in the O’Gorman Invite.
The girls will run first at 4:00 PM, with the boys scheduled to race at 4:25. The event will be held at Pasley Park in Sioux Falls.
Yankton Gazelles Tennis will travel to Brookings tomorrow morning for a varsity quadrangular involving Brookings, Aberdeen Central, and Harrisburg.
Yankton will face Brookings first at 1:00 PM, before taking on Aberdeen Central at 3:00. Yankton will not face Harrisburg during the event.
Matches will be held at the Hillcrest Tennis Courts in Brookings.
Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Soccer will host Aberdeen Central on Friday night in a boys and girls doubleheader.
The Gazelles are coming off a 3-0 shutout over Tea Area earlier this week, while the Bucks look to improve on their 2-2 draw with the Titans.
The boys will play first at 5:00 PM, with the girls to follow. Both varsity matches will be held at Crane-Youngworth Field.
Mount Marty Volleyball travels to Ellendale, North Dakota, today to take on Trinity Bible College.
The Lancers are 4-4 on the season following back-to-back 2-2 outings at weekend classics to open the season.
