Yankton Bucks Golf travels to Spring Creek Golf Course this morning for a varsity invitational.
Yankton will compete against four other teams during the event. Harrisburg, Sioux Falls Lincoln, Sioux Falls Washington, and Brandon Valley.
Tee time is scheduled for 8:00 AM.
Yankton Gazelles Tennis will be in Brandon today for a varsity triangular hosted by Brandon Valley
Yankton will take on the Watertown Arrows first at 12:15 PM, before facing the Rapid City Central Cobblers at 2:30 PM.
Yankton’s matches will be held at Brandon Valley Middle School in Brandon.
Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Soccer head west today for a weekend slate against Rapid City Central and Stevens.
The Gazelles are 1-0 on the year, while the Bucks are 0-1, following their season opener last week against Sioux Falls Lincoln.
Yankton will take on Central today at Sioux Park. The girls’ play first at 5:30 PM MT, with the boys to follow.
Tomorrow’s matches against Stevens will also take place at Sioux Park, beginning with the boys’ at 9:00 AM MT.
The Yankton Bucks will host their annual Powerade Football Scrimmage this evening.
The scrimmage is scheduled for 7:00 PM at Crane-Youngworth Field. The Bucks are accepting Powerade donations for the upcoming season during the event.
Yankton officially begins their season next Friday, August 28th, with a road matchup against Aberdeen Central.
Head football coach Matt Vitzthum and the South Dakota football program has named the three team captains for the 2026 season, with one captain named to represent the three major units – offense, defense, and special teams.
Senior receiver Tysen Boze will serve as offensive captain. The Dublin, Ohio native is entering his fifth year as a Coyote after recording 19 catches and 2 touchdowns in 2025.
The defense will be captained by Linebacker Gabriel Hardman. Hardman steps into a starting role this season after finishing 3rd on the team in tackles last year with 90, adding 5 TFLs, 2 sacks, and an interception.
Keyondray Jones-Logan will round out the trio as special teams captain. Jones-Logan is looking to bounce back from an injury-riddled 2025. He enters his junior year with a pair of kick return touchdowns, tied for the most in program history.
USD opens their season next Saturday, August 29th, at home against Connecticut State. Kickoff from the DakotaDome is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
