The Yankton School District is hosting a High School Sports Fall Kickoff tonight at the Yankton High School Commons.
Representatives from all fall athletics are scheduled to speak. The event is free and open to the public.
Food will be served at 6:00 PM, with coaches set to speak between 6:30 and 6:45.

Yankton Gazelles Tennis opens their 2026 season tomorrow afternoon with a triangular is the state capital.
Yankton will face the Pierre Governors first at 1:00 PM, before taking on the Rapid City Central Cobblers at 4:00 PM.
Matches will be held at Griffin Park in Pierre.
Yankton Soccer will travel to Sioux Falls tomorrow night for their first boys and girls soccer doubleheader of the season.
Yankton will face the Lincoln Patriots in their opener. The boys will play first at 5:00 PM, with the girls to follow.
Both varsity matches will be held at Sioux Falls Lincoln High School.
The Yankton Gazelles are receiving votes in the initial Class AA Girls Soccer Coaches Poll of the 2026 season.
Yankton ended last season with a 9-4-3 overall record, advancing to the quarterfinals of the Class AA Playoffs.
Harrisburg took the top spot in the initial poll, with O’Gorman, Rapid City Stevens, Pierre, and Sioux Falls Roosevelt rounding out the top five.
Receiving votes along with Yankton were Sioux Falls Lincoln, Sioux Falls Jefferson, Rapid City Central, Brandon Valley, Aberdeen Central, Mitchell, and Tea.
