The Class A Senior Legion Baseball State Tournament begins today in Rapid City, and Yankton Post 12 enters this year’s event as the #3 seed.
Yankton holds a 23-11 overall record, 17-6 in league play, after sweeping Aberdeen last week in their first-round series.
Yankton will face #6 Rapid City Post 320 in round one. Yankton won the lone regular-season meeting between the two teams 7-1 on June 24th.
First pitch between the two teams is scheduled for 5:00 PM Central, 4:00 PM Mountain Time at Fitzgerald Stadium in Rapid City. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 4:30 PM Central with Brayden Butler on the call.

The Freeman Black Sox advanced to a state qualifier matchup in the District 6B Amateur Baseball Tournament last night with a 6-2 win over Irene.
Trey Ortman earned the win on the mound with six strikeouts over eight innings. Riley Tschetter slammed the door in the ninth, striking out two batters.
Freeman will now play a win-and-in game on Thursday with a spot in the state tournament on the line. Irene’s season comes to an end with the loss.
The District 6B Amateur Baseball Tournament continues tonight with a pair of games in Menno.
Tabor will face Lesterville in game one at 6:00 PM. The winner will advance to the district championship game and guarantee a spot in the state tournament, with the loser taking on Freeman on Thursday in a state qualifier.
Game two between Crofton and Wynot is scheduled for 8:00 PM. The winner will advance to the district championship game and guarantee a spot in the state tournament, with the loser taking on Menno on Thursday in a state qualifier.
