On July 23rd a four-person team set out to beat the Missouri River Speed Record.
The team had to paddle over 2,340 miles. They passed through Yankton near the Gavins Point Dam July 12th.
The old record was set at 32 days, six hours and seven minutes. The Missouri River Speed Record Team broke that record at 24 days, 16 hours and 51 minutes.
