Yankton Post 12 has their final games of the Class A Legion Baseball regular season tonight, as they host Renner Post 307 at Riverside Field.
Yankton is currently 6th in the Class A standings following their split with Mitchell on Tuesday. Renner enters tonight’s contest ranked 10th.
First pitch of game one is scheduled for 5:00 PM this evening, with game two to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 4:15 with Josh Boelter on the call.
Tonight is the penultimate night of the South Central League season, with two games on the schedule as Lesterville hosts Menno and Tabor hosts Irene.
Lesterville and Menno enter tonight’s game with identical 6-7 league records, with the two teams tied with Freeman in the league standings.
The Tabor Bluebirds are locked into 2nd regardless of tonight’s outcome, as they look to end the regular season on a five-game win streak.
Both games are scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM this evening.
Marleen Mülla was named a Third Team Academic All-American by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Wednesday, making her the third Coyote track and field athlete to earn multiple Academic All-American honors.
Mülla was one of the nation’s best pole vaulters, winning both the Summit League Indoor and Outdoor Pole Vault titles, qualifying for the NCAA Championships both indoor and outdoor, and earning all-American honors for both seasons.
A native of Rakvere, Estonia, Mülla graduated with a 3.93 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 grade scale) this spring.
The South Dakota State men’s basketball team is one of over 400 programs across college basketball to receive a Team Academic Excellence Award from the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize programs that completed the 2025-26 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher
SDSU’s men’s squad recorded a cumulative 3.54 GPA over the course of the 2025-26 academic year. Five Jackrabbits also earned NABC Honors Court recognition, Caleb Delzell, Kalen Garry, Joe Sayler, Damon Wilkinson, and Yankton alum Matthew Mors.
The Yankton High School Gazelles girls’ soccer program will hold a preseason meeting for athletes and parents on Monday, July 27, at 6 p.m. in the YC Alumni Hall theater at Yankton High School.
All YHS girls interested in participating in soccer this season are asked to attend the meeting.
