Avera hosted a ribbon cutting for the new Avera Cancer Institute within the Ness Family Center on Friday.
Janna Binder, the Clinical Manager at the Avera Cancer Institute, says the facility will offer medical oncology, radiation oncology, chemotherapy infusion, clinical research, genetic counseling and other support services.
Sacred Heart Regional President and CEO, Victoria Hanson, says the facility brings all of Avera’s cancer care services under one roof.
In total, the project cost $17 million. The Avera Cancer Institute officially opened for patient care on June 1st.
