Yankton Post 12 returns to action today, taking on Sioux Falls Post 15 East and West in a pair of games.
Yankton is currently ranked 4th in the legion standings with a 4-2 league record. West enters 3rd at 7-3 while East is ranked 14th at 4-6.
Yankton will play East first at 11:00 AM before taking on West at 6:30 PM. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins 30 minutes before each game.
Sioux Falls East and West will also have one game each against Dakota Valley between their matchups with Yankton. All games are held at Riverside Field.
The Yankton Lancers claimed the 16u division title this past weekend at the Lowell Rang Softball Tournament in Mitchell.
Yankton was the top seed after pool play, finishing 2-1 and outscoring their opponents 28-10 over the three games.
Yankton advanced straight to the semifinals of bracket play as the #1 seed. They would defeat Fusion Heat 10-4 to set up a championship game against the Rapid City Sliders.
Yankton would win the championship game 6-2. Kalli Koletzky collected a pair of hits, scoring twice for the Lancers. Dylyn Wagner tallied two hits as well, driving in two runs for Yankton, while throwing all four innings for the win in the circle.
Nearing the midway point of the 2026 South Central League Amateur Baseball season, the Yankton Lakers hold the top spot with an 8-0 league record.
Yankton has been dominant in league play this season, scoring 16.6 runs per game, while allowing 3.25 to their opponents.
Lesterville currently sits in second place at 5-2, with Menno and Tabor tied for 3rd at 4-3. Freeman rounds out the top-5 at 3-4, with Crofton, Wynot, and Irene rounding out the current league table.
The South Central League returns to action on Thursday with a trio of games. Tabor hosts Lesterville, Freeman hosts Irene, and Menno hosts Wynot.
The University of South Dakota recently announced the addition of Illiam (ill-liam) Fevry to the 2026-27 men’s basketball roster.
Fevry, a 6’5 guard from Paris, France, joins the Coyotes after spending last season at Arizona Western, where he averaged 9.7 points and 4.4 rebounds per game in 30 appearances.
Prior to coming stateside, Fevry played in the France-ProA U21 League, where he averaged 12.3 points, 4.5 assists, 1.9 steals, and 4.3 rebounds per game in 30 appearances.
Fevry joins the Coyotes with three years of eligibility remaining.
