The Lewis and Clark Legion Baseball Classic begins today, with twenty teams set to compete across four pools.
Yankton, Vermillion, Hartington, and Crofton will serve as hosts for this year’s tournament, with the winners of each pool advancing to a four-team championship bracket on Sunday.
Team lists for each pool and today’s schedule are available below. Games will begin at 9:30 AM. Coverage of both Yankton games today will be available on KYNT and KYNTV, beginning at 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

Yankton United Girls’ Soccer is scheduled to compete in the 19u and 15u divisions of this weekend’s NSC All-American Cup in Blaine, Minnesota.
The 19u squad will compete in the Stripes Pool. Also in the pool are Bemidji Extreme, Maple Brook SC, Minnesota Twinstars, Minnesota Rush, and Xolos (Show-los) Academy
The 15u team will compete in the Stripes Division, with twelve teams split across four brackets. Yankton will compete in bracket D, along with Fire SC and Waconia SC.
Yankton’s first 15u game will take place tonight at 6:45 PM against Fire SC, with their opening 19u game held at 9:45 AM tomorrow against Bemidji Extreme.
All games will be held at the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minnesota.
The #6 Gayville-Volin Raiders pulled off an upset over #3 Florence/Henry last night, winning 3-1 in the Class B Softball State Quarterfinals.
The Raiders tallied 11 hits as a team en route to the win, while holding their opponents to 3 hits of their own.
The Raiders now turn their attention to #2 McCook Central/Montrose. First pitch of the state semifinal matchup is scheduled for 4:00 PM this afternoon.
#4 Hanson and #5 Avon combined for 21 runs in their Class B Softball Quarterfinal matchup, with Hanson edging out an 11-10 victory.
Hanson trailed 7-0 at one point in the game, before a rally pushed them to a one-run victory. Kaydence Metzger led the Avon offense in the loss, finishing the day 3 for 4 at the plate with a pair of extra-base hits.
Avon will face #8 Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy today in the Consolation Semifinals. First pitch is scheduled for 10:00 AM.
Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy fell to top-seeded Castlewood yesterday, 7-3, in their first-ever Class B State Softball appearance.
Claire Loofbourrow led the Phoenix in the loss, ending the game with two hits and a pair of RBIs.
FMFA now moves into the consolation semifinals, where they will face Avon today at 10:00 AM.
Eighth-seeded Elk Point-Jefferson upset top-seeded Madison yesterday, 3-1 in the Class A Softball State Tournament.
Cera Schmitz led EPJ at the plate, securing two of the team’s three hits, adding an RBI and a run scored.
The Huskies advanced to their first ever state-semifinals for softball with the win. They will face #4 West Central at 2:00 PM this afternoon in Aberdeen.
The #5-seeded Beresford Watchdogs fell to #4 West Central 2-0 yesterday in the Class A Softball State Tournament Quarterfinals.
Four different Watchdogs recorded a hit, Ivy Keiser, Rylie Laurvick, Tavyn Tiedeman, and Kate Degen.
Beresford will now take on top-seeded Madison in the consolation semifinals. First pitch is scheduled for 10:00 AM this morning in Aberdeen.
