The Yankton Bucks placed 4th as a team at the ESD Tennis Conference Championships yesterday, led by a runner-up finish at flight 3 singles for Chris Rockne.
Rockne also earned a consolation championship at flight 2 doubles. The Bucks earned a consolation championship or better at every flight in both singles and doubles.
Harrisburg claimed the team title with 436 points, followed by Brandon Valley at 279.5, Mitchell at 188, and Yankton at 180.
The Bucks turn their attention to the Class AA State Tournament, held May 21st and 22nd in Rapid City.

- F1 Singles: Harrison Krajewski placed 3rd.
- F2 Singles: Luke Moeller was the consolation champion (5th)
- F3 Singles: Chris Rockne placed 2nd
- F4 Singles: Ethan Marsh placed 3rd
- F5 Singles: Jack Pedersen placed 4th
- F6 Singles: Zane Becker placed 4th
- F1 Doubles: Krajewski and Moeller placed 4th
- F2 Doubles: Rockne and Marsh were consolation champions (5th)
- F3 Doubles: Pedersen and Becker placed 3rd
The Yankton Gazelles fell to the Mitchell Kernels yesterday in the Marchand Cup at Fox Run Golf Course.
The Kernels claimed the Ryder Cup-style matchup 14.5-5.5. Mitchell swept Four Ball play and was 4-1 in the scramble. The two teams split singles play 5-5.
Yankton will travel to Mitchell for their next event, taking place on Friday at Lake View Golf Course. Tee time is scheduled for 10:30 AM.
The Yankton Gazelles scored 19 runs on 21 hits yesterday to claim a 19-8 win over Beresford in their interclass Softball matchup.
September Rauch was dominant at the plate, finishing the game with a home run, two triples, and six RBIs. Ava Girard, Jocelyn Behrns, and Kyra Tjeerdsma also record three hits each.
The Gazelles improved to 7-10 with the win. Yankton is now off for the remainder of the week, with their next game scheduled for May 18th against Tea Area in Tea.
The South Central Amateur Baseball League opens its 2026 league season tomorrow night with a quadruple header of games.
Irene will host Tabor, Lesterville hosts Wynot, Yankton travels to Menno, and Crofton is on the road against Freeman.
All games are scheduled for a 7:30 PM first pitch.
